Anybody see this? I was SHOCKED in a good way for a change by this show.

The show was about a nurse in what was obviously supposed to be Planned Parenthood, though they gave it a ficticious name. She worked at a ‘clinic’ in a poor area and gave a screwed up young black girl a chemical that was supposed to scar her womb and make her infertile. There were complications and the girl died. Further investigation found that this chemical is illegal in the USA, but is used widely by this foundation in third world countries in the guise of compassion, but with the REAL purpose of slowing the population growth of ‘undesirable people.’ Basically, they exposed the eugenics underpinnings of Planned Parenthood and vividly exposed how what PP pretends is compassion for the poor and disadvantaged is really about playing God, eugenics and racism.

I was completely floored that a mainstream show would have the guts to show America this view of ‘population control’ groups. And impressed.

I saw it. I thought it was very interesting because it tied in the idea of eugenics, brought out the fact that up until quite recently eugenic laws were on the books and that many mainstream health professionals today are proponents of eugenics. I also thought it was very interesting that they had the guts to bring out the underlying racism in this type of thinking - the idea that we are, in the United States, being ‘overrun with immigrants’ and so it is necessary that we sterilize these women overseas in their own countries under the guise of health care for women so that if, and when, they DO come to this country they cannot ‘overrun’ and ‘overburden’ our systems - health care, schools, etc.

It was extremely interesting, and not far off the mark. I work in as a clerical administrator in a health care facility for the county. Listening to many of the nurses and providers talk (many of whom identify themselves as ‘Bible Christians’ and look down on Catholics as not real Christians) the beliefs held by the character of “Nurse G” were very adequately portrayed.
