Lay Service Organizations?

Would anyone be able to give some direction towards any Catholic groups who provide charitable service to those in need? I have time and skills; I would like to apply these where they can be most useful. I’m looking for Catholic organizations who can coordinate people and their ablilities. I’m feeling a call…

Knights of Columbus

yeah its mostly older guys. But hey, Im only 22 and I feel right at home. “Brother’s All” mentality is very strong. It really is a fun organization. When were working just being around my Brother Knights makes me want to work that much harder. When we help out at special Masses (ie the Bishop comes), it makes me feel so honored to be in the company of such upstanding men. Sure we work hard, but the fulfillment and sense of purpose are well worth it. It also helps deepen your faith. Im a cradle-Catholic and when I joined the Knights (back in feb. '10) I had a reconversion experience. Im doing things now that just 6 months ago I wouldnt have imagined myself doing. It really is a life-changing experience. I encourage any and all men to join the Order. 👍
