Layman difference

In The Book of Numbers, the term “layman” is used twice between Verses 1 to 8 in Chapter 18.
Verse 4: As your associates they shall have charge of all the work connected with the meeting tent. But no layman shall come near you.
Here does layman refer to one who is not a Levite?

Verse 7: Any layman who draws near shall be put to death.
Here does layman refer to one who is not a priest?

18:4 They will be joined to you to perform the duties associated with the tent of meeting, all the labor pertaining to the tent. But no unauthorized person* shall come near you.

18:7 But you and your sons with you must take care to exercise your priesthood in whatever concerns the altar and the area within the veil.* I give you your priesthood as a gift. Any unauthorized person who comes near shall be put to death.

NRSV:

18:4 They are attached to you in
order to perform the duties of the tent of
meeting, for all the service of the tent; no
outsider shall approach you.

18:7 You and your sons with you shall
diligently perform your priestly duties in all
that concerns the altar and the area behind
the curtain. I give your priesthood as a
gift;’ any outsider who approaches shall
be put to death.

18:4 But let them be with thee, and watch in the charge of the tabernacle, and in all the ceremonies thereof. A stranger shall not join himself with you.

18:7 But thou and thy sons look ye to the priesthood: and all things that pertain to the service of the altar, and that are within the veil, shall be executed by the priests. If any stranger shall approach, he shall be slain.

So “stranger,” “outsider,” and “unauthorized person”.
