I am particularly drawn to visual art. There are several paintings of Jesus and of Mary created by LDS artists that are quite special to me. I was wondering if any Catholic converts from the LDS faith have favorite works by LDS artists that are still special to them. Also are there any Catholics familiar with any LDS artwork that they like?

You might want to check out the following site:

They have some very nice paintings etc. there - real beautiful stuff!

I would be interested also in learning something about LDS architecture. some of the church buildings I have seen in NE Ohio (Kirtland) and elsewhere are quite distinctive, compared to the typical protestant church of the same place and era, (either new england congregational style, white clapboard with steeple, or greek revival in red brick with white columns. ) Any info in requirements of LDS church or temple architecture?

Edited in: Im not familar with LDS Church info on how temples and meeting houses are built, but they seem to be more decorated on the outside, than inside the chapel.

The funny thing about this, was back in the 1940’s, a wealthy person had a very unusual building built, and got the LDS church to except it. It’s the Bloomfield Hills Stake Center Building, with a new mini temple built in the grass strip right next to the stake center building.
