I have come to the conclusion, after seeing news coverage about Rome and through personal experience, that there is just SO much misinformation about the Catholic church. Therefore, I have started posting something simple and concise, trying to direct people toward Catholic.com so they can really learn about what we believe. I do try to correct confusion when I see it, but sometimes there is more than I am able to tackle on a forum or comments section under a news article. I figure perhaps if people at least know that a site like this exists some of them will check it out. (Even if just to debate). I urge others to do this too. Post a similar message as your facebook status or just paste it in a comment box when you see a comment section on a website that discusses the Faith. Leading people to the truth about Catholics, not whatever they heard from their best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend, is the way to fix the misinformation.
Here is what I have been posting:
Okay, so the recent coverage of the events in Rome have shown me that people have a lot of REALLY incorrect info about Catholics. Is there something that drives you crazy about us or completely confuses you? Are you wondering where certain practices are backed up by scripture? Do you think Catholics are pagans? (We’re not…The Trinity is the one and only for us). Ask questions! The sign of a good church is one that lets you ask any question you want! There is an awesome place to discuss and debate it all and get the RIGHT info, not just something someone told you somewhere or what you heard from a friend of a friend. Catholic.com is the place. Go there!![Slightly smiling face  🙂](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
