I’m on this journey, with the rest of you, to get to Heaven, and in the meantime, I want to work on becoming closer to God, and doing His Work on earth.

I’ve been praying for some time with the Holy Spirit, to help discern my gifts and talents, my ‘charisms’, so to speak. I know He has a plan for me, and I’m praying to be open to His Promptings.

I attend a monthly healing Mass (anointing of the sick) which also has others who are drawn closer to the Holy Spirit. I have personally been healed, at the first Mass and the anointing I received. I attended again Thursday evening, and was part of a prayer team with one other person, where we pray with others who needed various needs or requests, and we prayed with/over them; they range from spiritual to physical.

That brings me to this morning. I woke up and felt pushed, compelled to attend Mass at one of my favorite, reverent parishes downtown. As I prayed before Mass, I noticed the priest (fairly new to this parish; I haven’t seen him before), was wearing the long black ‘robe’, which is the usual at this parish. I felt warmth inside, and prayed about it; how it made me feel good, for whatever reason, since I didn’t grow up with priests dressed as such, and it’s even rare in the area I live in. It calms me; it reassures me. I don’t know why. But what happened next…

The opening Antiphon (I can’t find it online anywhere) spoke of priests and their dress (or something like that). I couldn’t believe I had just been thinking about it, when it then appeared before my eyes.

Later, while waiting in line for Confession after Mass, I had brought my fairly new and unused Bible with me to read, which I rarely bring and read. I randomly opened it up, and it went to pages that did not have an insert, so it wasn’t ‘naturally’ opening up to a certain spot. On these two pages in Matthew, it spoke over and over of the healings Jesus performed on the sick and demonic plagued.

Although I’m not in any way saying that is His Plan for me, it did give me comfort in the prayers I shared the night before at the Healing Mass. I was also blessed to be a member of the prayer team that was asked to pray with/over the priest, who suffers greatly from Parkinson’s Disease, among others.

This is a journey, not a sprint, and I’m not rushing. I’ll be attending a large charismatic conference soon, and I pray to be lead even closer to His bidding.

Thank you for reading. God bless and keep you all.

This is a beautiful post. In reading it and saying a little prayer about it, I have thought that perhaps the Lord healed you not only for yourself, but that you might be a blessing unto others in this same ministry.

I will pray that you might have further discernment, but It seems that the Lord has put you on this path that you might serve him in this fashion, for His glory.

May God continue to guide and bless you.

Thank you. I’m trying to ‘lean into God’ as He will not let me down, nor steer me wrong. 🙂

God bless you.
