Learning the basics of the Great Schism

I feel like I should know about the Great Schism of 1054 if I’m going to be a pro-reunification Catholic and really decide if re-unification is best or even possible.

I’m looking to see if anyone here knows online sources from both sides and/or credible books on the subject.

The Great Schism: The Estrangement of Eastern and Western Christendom by Metropolitan Kallistos is one account. It is written by an Orthodox Christian bishop, but I thought it was pretty unbiased.

I think it would also be a good idea to read the Council of Florence. That was where the final break took place.
