This is the Third Annual Poll to vote for your LEAST favorite Secular Christas Song(s).

This year’s poll has THREE new entries than last year’s poll.

You can choose one or ALL the songs listed in the poll. If your least favorite isn’t listed, list it in the discussion area.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!

Hate them all except the Chipmunks because I was a wee baby when that first came out, it wasn’t supercommercialized then. You see, even Tantum can have feelings (gasp), and be nostalgic for things from a later time period than the Renaissance and Middle Ages (who’d a thought it?)😃

That utterly banal, monotonous, mind numbing “carol” about this kid who bangs a drum, demonstrating no talent, so that baby Jesus can smile, demonsttating no taste for music.

Oh it sounds OK when sung by someone with actual talent.

**I prefer Eartha Kitt’s version of Santa Baby to Madonna’s.

And why isn’t Christmas Shoes on this list?

No songs by Celine Dion?**

Most of my favorite Christmas CDs ARE from the Renaissance and Middle Ages. Gaudete, gaudete, Christus est natus!

I was surprised to see so few votes for them. I absolutely despise Chimp-muck songs. They give me splitting headaches.
Ever heard “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire”? Really funny but it gets old fast. (It’s a pardoy of “The Christmas Song”)

One song that I absolutely detest is the Barbara Streisand’s version of Jingle Bells. If that was on the list I would have picked that instead of Madonna whom I have never heard sing and never will. But to get back to Barbara Streisand, the reason why I hate it so much is that she sings soooooo fast

My all-time anti-favorite is “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”. At least none of the songs on the list are played in malls or stores. “Holly Jolly” is almost impossible to avoid and by December 25th every year I’m just about ready to kill next time I hear it.

You guys, what about this one:

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away.
This year, to save me from tears,
I’ll give it to someone special (special).

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise me?
Well it’s been a year, it doesn’t surprise me

(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying “I Love You” I meant it
Now I know what a fool I’ve been
But if you kissed me now I know you’d fool me again
…and so on and so forth.

I work at Sonic, and last year they played this non-stop it seemed like! I don’t think I’ll survive if they do it again this year!

Lol…that’s like one of my favorites. Sorry, didymus! 😛

Kevin…A store I used to work in played that song constantly. I really wanted to tear out my hair by the end of the season when it came on.

Anyway, I voted for the barking dogs Jingle Bells thing. I voted for it last year too. I just think it’s so dumb. I like the chipmunks though- it’s cute! 🙂

I cannot stand “Christmas Shoes”!!!

I do like “Redneck 12 Days of Christmas” by Jeff Foxworthy, “Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire” and “Flu Ride” by Twisted Radio.

And only Ertha Kitt’s “Santa Baby” should be played.

I rather LIKE “Dominic, the Christmas Donkey” – BUT it IS a cultural thing!

Blessings,

Papa Z
