How about a quiz game based on the Catechism? Based on which questions you get wrong it tells you what sort of heretic you are.Hmmmm.
The Sacramental life,
Pac-man -Eucharist-The ghosts = dissenters
No. I don’t see how this could work without making a mockery of the Faith.
I’m sure there are some orthodox, creative minds out there who could come up with something that would appeal to kids and teach them the faith at the same time.Hmmmm.

From the success of “The Passion of Christ” I am not certain that if it is Catholic it will be dismissed. The only people that will watch a Catholic movie are probably other Catholics. But the movies have a powerful implact on people’s views and Christians have been a bit foolish in not using this media form to reach others.
A positive example of this type is the X-men character “Nightcrawler”… now that’s a positive way to portray a catholic comic book character, especially in the film X-Men 2.Actually, the wrong way to evangelize is to have an openly ‘Catholic’ video game. Instead a stealth mode type of approach works best.
If I was a Catholic director, I would use images of people showing faith in a positive manner. I watched the Pirates of The Carribean Movie with my sons and we noticed that there was a man at the begining of the movie using a rosary. Now the movie was definitely not religious but little acts like that can lead a person to have a more positive view of Catholics.
Doing seemingly minor things such as; showing priest in positive ways, having the main character pray, letting one of the good guys be Catholic(even if he isn’t the main character) or even have someone make a difficult decision based on their faith, can go further toward creating a positive attitude about Catholics. If you dub the movie Christian though, many potential converts will avoid it like the plague.

THe same can happen in a video game. Don’t make a “Catholic video game” instead simply incorporate Catholic imagery and concepts into the game but market it to a secular audience.
Another Marvel comics superhero, Daredevil, is a practicing Catholic. He’s got some baggage and he isn’t perfect, but his Catholic faith is always portrayed positively. Has been for years. They even put a bit of his faith into the Daredevil movie, by making the priest his confidant.A positive example of this type is the X-men character “Nightcrawler”… now that’s a positive way to portray a catholic comic book character, especially in the film X-Men 2.
It was a strong image seeing him through “Cerebro” crouching and praying the Hail Mary( as part of the rosary), and later on praying the Our Father during the film’s climax. Hopefully kids will remember that one and it helps them warm to the catholic faith later on in life.
They already have stealth Catholicism “the Lord of the Rings” it has video games, a great movie triology and great books series, hope to see the Hobbit in production in a year or two. But Yeah I don’t think hitting people over the head converts or interest too many people.
As for the Passion wasn’t it a case of preaching to the converted?
I didn’t notice a huge amounts of converts due to the film.
Films and books and yes games based on the Chronicles or Narnia and the Lord of the RIngs are a great way to stealth evangelize the youth and if they dare to dig just a bit deeper they find the Christian and in case of the Rings the Catholic faith that inspired these stories.
What is kind of funny is that in so many convert story books and episodes of the Journey Home CS Lewis seems to have inspired so many evangelicals to become catholic and the man was an anglo-catholic Anglican during his lifetime, wo you never know who one’s work will inspire one to the catholic faith.
Yeah, I loved that part in the movie. Unfortunately, the extended version only shows this. The theatrical movie did not. That is why I bought the extended dvd version of Daredevil. It shows him praying the rosary.Another Marvel comics superhero, Daredevil, is a practicing Catholic.
