PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Lawmakers confirmed Friday that a bill banning most abortions in South Dakota will be introduced again in the Legislature, and it will contain exceptions for rape, incest and the health of women.
The measure was in the final drafting stages, and it was expected to be offered early next week. Tuesday is the deadline for individual lawmakers to introduce bills. Complete details of the measure were scheduled to be released Monday.

Let us pray that this will lead to a Supreme Court case where Roe vs. Wade will be overturned.

its not a true BAN if it HAS to have the exceptions for rape (not the baby’s fault), incest (Again, NOT the baby’s fault!) and of coruse that too broadly worded “Health of the Mother” (which can include mental health, physical health and the made up other “healths” that the “We love abortion” side love to try to use for yet MORE abortions.

How about a bill that would make adoption placement easier?

Why are pro-lifers so quick to quit, to water down their position, to surrender to the spirit of despair? That’s my question. We do not want to enshrine the right to abortion in any case in the law. South Dakota’s lawmakers have it wrong on a lot of levels. We can only pray that this particular law will not go any where.

I saw life of mother? Not health?

Rape and Incest with DNA evident which means that you would have to report the rape immediately? Few would do that.

I also a fine of ten thousand not five thousand for anyone who does an abortion.

Why? This law is better than nothing is it not?

Of course not. It’s the same argument used by abortion advocates when they fuss at anti-abortion folks for not being able to “care for all of the unwanted babies.” If you can’t solve the problem completely, then your solution isn’t wanted.

Why do I suddenly feel like re-reading Catch-22?

And with one stroke of the pen all abortion could be made illegal.
If a woman wants an abortion ,She should be able to , I dont see you helping any of my friends ,Who were born in a Catholic country ,Who have nothing to thank the Catholic church for ,

Perhaps you don’t recognize abortion as a violation of human rights.

Explain the human rights bit to my very dear friend ,Who had her human rights denied ,when they had her reclassifed as mentaly retarded an stole her baby

Her child is 19 years old this year ,To be able to speak about human rights you first have to make sure ,You are not a member of a group or church who does not respect the human rights of others And the group or church are not violating the human rights of any one

Dear MichaelMac,

I sympathize with your friend’s situation. What was done to her is a gross injustice. I am very sorry that such a horrible thing had to happen. What happened to your friend is an example of modern thought which categorizes human worth and value on the basis of how much one can contribute to society. If one is productive, he or she is valued, if not the opposite is true.

Your friend was the victim of a secular, liberal mentality that says the “mentally retarded” are not productive and therefore not worth much. The same is said of the elderly, the terminally ill, and the unborn.

Catholics, on the other hand, believe in the intrinsic value of every innocent human life. It doesn’t matter how productive one is. We are against euthenasia, because the sick and elderly are worth as much as the strongest and healthiest man. We are against abortion, because the weekest unborn baby is worth as much as the strongest adult.

When we start prioritizing the value of some lives over that of others, no one is safe. Philosophically, if government can declare that an unborn baby’s life is not worth defending legally, what is to stop it from doing the same with respect to the elderly, the ill, the mentally retarded, or as was done in the days of slavery, one’s ethnicity?

The pro-life cause is a cause that respects the value of every human life (regardless of race, religion, gender, creed, ethnicity, national origin, mental health status, etc.) We must never subject the natural rights of any human being to the choice of another human being. That is a form of slavery.

Best wishes. You and your friend are in my thoughts and prayers.

Please forgive me if you already explained your point or provided your information regarding the legislators in SD, but could you please repost it or tell me where to find it? I did not see it earlier in this thread. I’m not quite sure of the point you were trying to make. Please clarify. Thanks.
