I really would like to attend Mass at the Parish closest to where I live…but I fear seeing people I know…I try to tell myself I am going there for God and it shouldn’t matter who I see…but I fear they will question why I am there, as I just converted a year ago ( I received all sacraments at a different Parish)
Is this a legit reason to go to a different Parish, or should I go to the one near me and just get over it…?

This is going to sound harsh but - they are not going to be thinking about you in that way. Every parish has visitors. I see people I know at mass and usually we will just smile and nod, nothing to it. Also might create some new friendships for you if you so wish

I guess my fear is not feeling welcomed?
I have lived in this area my whole life and don’t feel liked by some…

Just remember that you ARE welcome. Jesus wants you there! So does the priest, and the greeters will make you feel welcome. You have nothing to lose. I have the opposite problem I like the anonymity and am happy with the smile and nod, I don’t want people falling over themselves to come and talk. Give your parish a chance first as you are meant to worship there really

Yeah, that’s just called life.
Not everybody is going to like you.
But you have as much right to worship at the parish you choose as the next person.
