My mother still does this (sometimes), whenever I don’t do what she wants (only, she’s not drunk when she does it! God Bless her) I feel for you both.
The Lord says to tell your warn your brother once, twice, and after the third time, ties are cut. St. Paul reiterates this.
My opinion is that your husband should tell them that enough is enough. The line has been crossed, and they’re not to call/communicate with any of you anymore (until they’re willing to grow up). The stress they’re putting you and your husband through is going to affect your children sooner or later, and not positively. The immaturity of these people…
it’s unbelievable that they’re not teens. Pray for discernment (to know whether or not to give them an official “Quit it or we’re through [for now]”) and strength to follow through on it. You will all be in my prayers, entrust yourselves to the Holy Family, especially St. Joseph, the protector of all families.
