However, I was listening to someone on EWTN…I think it was Fr. Wade from Fathers of Mercy. The Eastern Catholics, I think that is what he said, don’t relax their penances even on Sundays, during Lent.

Although, to clarify, it was made clear at the time it was introduced that failure to abstain on Fridays is not a matter of mortal sin.
