A couple of guys over at a blog I participate in have worked up what I think is a great idea for Lent: a reading plan of the writings of the Early Fathers and other early Church documents. There’s even a PDF that contains both the plan and the readings.

Have a blessed journey with Our Lord in the desert. This is my first Lent, so I’m looking forward to it.

That is a pretty good list of reading material. I might try it.

im going to do these readings sounds like a great way to grow in knowledge and faith. Could you give the dates of when these writings were made??

Im going to be reading these with a protestant friend of mine and wanted to give her the dates of the 40 readings.

thanks

Mike

I wish I knew offhand.

You might want to look up the authors or works on newadvent.org. I haven’t done so, but you may be able to date them that way. And there’s always Google.

If they do it again next year, I’ll try to mention that they might want to consider inserting a little blurb with the year the work was probably written.
