Does anyone know about the vision that Pope Leo XIII had in which 100 years would given to Satan? Thanks again.

All I know is that he was so scared by it he composed the St. Michael prayer which was prayed after every Low Mass until the 60s.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

From what I understand, Pope Leo XIII’s vision occurred while saying mass on October 13 1884.

Theories are that the 100 years commences at this date.

Carl Marx, Charles Darwin, Existentialist Philosophers, Freudian Psychology where seting the stage for alternative critical thinking -Communism, Humanism etc…

New Age concepts were being developed in the 1880’s through the founders of the Thesophical Society, laying the foundation for the Fernhorn Institute in Scotland, (Feminism and Mother Earth concepts), and the Esleen Institute in Big Sur, California, which is responsible for the Human Potential Movement and for philosphies proclaiming man as a creator.

What is interesting is that October 13 1917 was the last Fatima message and from Fatima came Pope John Paul II’s Consecration of Russia in 1984, 100 years since Leo XIII’s vision.

Interesting…

This is how I understand it. He heard a noise behind the tabernacle a conversation between God and Satan. Satan said, “If given enough power and enough time I could destroy the Church.” He said in a course voice. God said in reply, “How much time and how much power?” Satan said, “Give me one century.” God said, “So be it.” Pope Leo XIII wrote 13 encyclicals based on the Rosary recognizing the power behind it. By the way what exactly is humanism? How is Frued involved in this.

Humanism according to the Catholic Encylopedia is:
Humanism is the name given to the intellectual, literary, and scientific movement of the fourteenth to the sixteenth centuries, a movement which aimed at basing every branch of learning on the literature and culture of classical antiquity.
Believing that a classical training alone could form a perfect man, the Humanists so called themselves in opposition to the Scholastics, and adopted the term humaniora (the humanities)

Humanism formed the foundation for the interpretation of Science providing all the answers to life, excluding God.

Freud is the recognised Father of modern day psychotherapy. In itself, it is good but the philosophy around it suggests that a person’s negative actions are a result of upbringing. The responsibility of sin is excluded from the equation. Though Freud was Jewish, he excluded religion or faith as part of the person, rather focusing on the psyche only.

All the situations described in my earlier post contributed to the mind and heart of society moving away from God during the 20th Century, resulting in that Centuries calameties and the fallout affecting this century.

On Sunday April 24th 1994, Pope John Paul II recommended this prayer be used by all Catholics as a prayer for the Church when he said:

‘“May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: ‘Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power’ (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very vivid recollection of this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to St. Michael throughout the Church. Although this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.”’

Here is the entire prayer:

I remember watching a show on PBS on how Frued’s father was persecuted by anti-semitism. You wonder why WWI started. Of course that’s only part of it. Given that our society at the time of Frued was highly atheistic. Church property, clergy were controlled by the state, expulsion of clergy, taking God out of their school, Europe was bound for disaster.
