NWC to present “Vianney” in September
WEST HARTFORD >> “Vianney,” a live one-man production performed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions, will be presented in the Richard Rice Auditorium at Northwest Catholic High School on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
“Vianney” tells the story of Saint John Vianney, a humble priest who battled the devil to save souls in the French village of Ars, where the people had fallen into decadence, crime and debauchery.
In his determination to save every soul in his care, he encountered tremendous resistance and even violent supernatural attacks. He overcame these attacks and succeeded not only in reforming the lives of his parishioners, but also in drawing hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to the tiny parish.
westhartfordnews.com/articles/2015/08/25/entertainment/doc55cb9f21a493e472805082.txtMore than 100,000 people have seen over 200 performances of this drama, which began touring the country as part of the worldwide celebration of the Year for Priests. The production runs 90 minutes and is suitable for ages 9 and up.
Many of us have seen his plays, “Maximilian, St. of Auschwitz” among others and…he made a movie of St. Therese. Some of his movies, the one on St. Maximilian had a profound effect on me, perhaps for those interested it is somewhere online to watch. That he makes these as one man plays is rather fantastic too.
His company is “St. Luke Productions”, when the industry was switching to DVDs, they had their old VHS tapes I believe sold at a deep discount, so, I saw some of his older work, “Song of Solomon” and a 1 man play on St. Francis.

If you go to the website, it looks like the production company is going to make a play over Father Tolton. They are even looking for someone to play him. Please see the website for more info.
