I just gave 396$ to the Leprosy Mission Canada(effecthope). Apparently it claims that is the full treatment to cure a leper. It’s overhead if I remember was 30%, with remaining going to the mission. 60% seems low to me. I specifically want Catholic leper missions of good reputation.
What I generally don’t like about these larger missions, at least the Canadian ones, is they all locate their head offices in finance areas of large cities. I say why not contribute by hiring their admin staff in work starved small cities and towns? Besides, the savings they can put back in the funds. It’s almost scandalous really. Who’s to say they don’t dabble in the close by investment firms in neighbouring sky scrapers?.
I did a better business search on LMC and nothing bad came up. It’s a concern that that is all I can use to research these companies.
Anyone else have anything on LMC or do you know a better one.?
What’s it really cost to cure someone of leprosy?
Thanks.
