With the recent unearthing of the clerical abuse scandal, we have been focusing much on the sins of priests. Let’s, today, for about 20 minutes focus on the glories and dignities of the sacred priesthood:

Sorry to say that as a Catholic I have never focused on the sins of the priests and other Catholic clergy dignitaries. I consider them just as human like me, but they are just bestowed authorities like hearing confessions and offering the mass, unless they are excommunicated officially or get their frock stripped.

Your suggestion “focus on the glories and dignities of the sacred priesthood” is OK and recommendable.

I grew up next to a rectory and went to Catholic school for middle school and high school. I send my children to parochial school now. I, personally, have never known any priests that were not good and holy. There have been some that I did not care for because of their personalities, but I have never known one that was a predator. I pray for all good priests whose vocations have been tarnished by the scandal. And I pray for our Holy Mother Church.
