Luke 12: 22-31

He said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life and what you will eat, or about your body and what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food and the body more than clothing. 24 Notice the ravens: they do not sow or reap; they have neither storehouse or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more important are you than the birds! 25 Can any of you by worrying add a moment to your life span? 26 If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Notice how the flowers grow. They do not toil or spin. But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of them. 28 If God so clothes the grass in the field that grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? 29 As for you, do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not worry anymore. 30 All the nations of the world seek for these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these other things will be given you besides.

This passage is so good for me tonight.
I have been having a terrible work situation, tomorrow the decision will be given to me about what is going on with my job.

Two times this past week I have seen a hawk eating on the ground, within five feet of me, this is not common and more uncommon is that the second one was in my own yard tonight!

When I was reading this passage tonight it all made perfect sense, I knew there was a message behind seeing two hawks so close in a week, read line 24.

I need not worry, God is providing for me already and he will continue to do so. The hawks were sent to tell me that I need not worry, everything is going to work out for me.

Wow…I have also heard a very similar story from someone in a similar situation as yours that also noticed some strange bird activity…I cant remember the story well enough to recount but it sounded almost identical.

God was definitely telling you something!

:blessyou:

Thanks for the replies.

I truly feel that God has answered my prayers and given me a message that this whole situation will be ok, it’s in his hands. I’ve been praying over it and it’s nice to see some answwers because it’s beena stressful period. Today I am very relaxed and serene.

Thank God!

Here’s an update.

I did go into work and was terminated. I walked out angry and devastated but I’m still praying and am feeling better. I understand that God’s will is being done even if the end of the road cannot be seen right now.

But I got a clue yesterday…

Yesterday morning, the day after I was terminated I got an e-mail from a company that I had sent my resume to at the end of April.
I have an interview on Tuesday!
I have the experience they need, I have done this type of work before, it’s in the field I have been working in, all my experience matches so it’s no question about me being qualified. I guess it all depends if they are still interested after we meet.

A call for an interview coming the day after I was let go is truly a gift from God. The funny thing is the company is located the next street over from the job I just got let go from.

I put my hope to God that after I interview if I am still interested that they are also. I hope this all works out, if this job doesn’t I hope something else does.

I still feel the hawk’s were a message related to this passage.
God’s works!

Joshua1 you just took these words out of my mouth.
Back to the topic. compactdiss I was in a similar situation. Worked in a telecom company in Chicagoland area. Survived a few rounds of layoffs but my position was finally terminated. I was able to find a new position in a company where I stayed for a year, but left it because of its financial situation. Meantime I looked for a new position and was able to find another one. While searching for work I met great people, learned a lot about job search, resume writing and so on. Later some of my friends affected by layoffs wanted my opinion about the job search process.
Let me tell you, God knows what He was doing. I never imagined that I would be doing and working on things I work on right now. Just trust Him. Let Him be in charge and you try to comply with his will.
As far as premonitions before the layoff day, I remember that I got up very early and decided to go to work really early so I could save and copy all my contact list just in case I was going to be terminated.
