I’m not certain if this going to work but I will try. Among people I know in real life and among certain groups online there is a little bit of upset at the current times. If nothing else, I want people to know they are not alone in being concerned and that if some people minimize concern it’s not because they don’t feel it, but because that is how they cope. So, for those of us who acknowledge our concern, I suggest we pray daily on this thread as time progresses towards election.
This is a non-partisan thread. Again, my opinion is that we as Catholics are charged with loving as many people as possible even if we do disagree with them politically. So, here is what I suggest:
I will start to model how I think this thread will be most effective:
Concern: People accept the winner of the outcome of the election and do not become disheartened or radicalized:
Dear Father, we pray today as Catholics that in the coming months we have wisdom and discernment to see that whoever wins the election, it is your will and desire we serve. May the media learn to behave responsibly and not inflame feelings of the most vulnerable. May all leaders not think of short term gains at the sacrifice of long term goals, but instead see our best interest in heart. As a community of Catholics may we accept who wins the election and pray for all our leaders.
Dear Father, may we as Catholics abide by loving everyone regardless of political affiliation. Instead, may we see the person and their concerns and their rights and know we are not greater than they for disagreeing. May we as Catholics accept all Christians as our Brothers and Sisters as Saint Augustine has asked us to do. Let politics not divide us, let us be Christians first above all else.
Dear Father, may those with a voice use their voice with responsibility, discernment and wisdom. As it is written in James as a caution and a guidance:
James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
For all people in media and politics, may we unite together as one country and people and use our voices wisely. Most of all, Dear Father, I pray that we can better come together by understanding each other and not believing in superiority or inferiority. Thank you Father for listening to our petitions. May election night and the days that follow go well for all of us and the country regardless who wins.

- Come with your concern about the times and state it to acknowledge it.
- Craft a prayer addressing it
- Others can reply with their prayers or instead reply with a prayer of their concern as we approach election.
