Math can be filled with ACTION! If you ever want to figure out how much steel you’ll need to build a roller coaster, you’ll need calculus… 😀
 
I liked how well algebra/ trig led right into beginning calculus. It fit in well in pharmacokinetics and the dosing of certain medications.
 
Yeah, “precalculus” is really a misnomer. I can’t think of anything I’ve learned about calc that I needed to know precalc for. Everything is based on algebra and trig.

I did the bare minimum for Calculus during highschool. I took an Algebra I college class my last year of high school and that was enough math for me.
 
Your post caught my eye because I had been reading a contentious thread that suddenly turned to talking about cars and motorcycles… Suddenly the people usually yelling at each other began to make civil comments and it was really pleasant… I thank you for wanting to be pleasant.
I also have discovered it isn’t very contentious in the Spirituality section or the prayer section or even the Sacred Scripture section! I know where to go to get away from contentions… why do i keep going back to World News or Social Justice??? Can’t stay away from a good fight, I guess… 🙂

The day was beautiful here. A little breezy but still got the yard mowed before evening Mass! God is good!

Also, I always seem to get involved in those types of threads, too. I start out by wanting to say something, and then find myself having to bite my tongue… errr… hand?.. and bowing out before it gets too contentious.

I should ask for forgiveness for trolling my neighbouring parish, somewhat inadvertently😈.

The churches are nextdoor, because the parish borders intersect, and their organist was more or less soliciting and poaching from their neighbour the cathedral. I figured being nice, filling out the smaller crowd, but afterwards, while in line for coffee, I asked their most junior priest why they didn’t coordinate napkin colour with with the liturgical season.
He got all tizzified and was going to look into it. I was all pokerfaced, polite and concerned while doubled over giggling on the inside, humming a kyrie when heading back home.

I’m counting on God having a sense of humour for doing that.
 
Had a great hike;yesterday. The wife and I kept up our usual blistering pace of 2.2 miles in just under 4 hours. Exhausting! I was looking for Red-faced Warblers. I only found 16. Photos will be posted in the bird thread.
