TrueDevotion

Visit my site www.TrueDevotiontoMary.Net to learn how the Mother of Jesus is the only one who can bring us closer to Christ. Let’s see Him through her eyes. The eyes that beheld His face in the cradle and on the cross. Mel Gibson made that quite clear.
See how much the Mother loved the world, that she gave up her ONLY begotten Son. Hail, Mary, FULL OF GRACE, the Lord is WITH YOU, BLESSED ARE YOU AMONG WOMEN AND BLESSED IS THE FRUIT OF YOUR WOMB, JESUS!

Those are the Words of God. If God honours her, why don’t we? NB All “BIBLE CHRISTIANS”—The Blessed Virgin Mary is the only person addressed by a title “Full of Grace”, and not by her name, Mary,. That IS the infallible Word of God!

Charles,

While I agree with everything you said and begin each day with prayerfully saying the rosary, I think Fr. Cantalamessa, who is preacher to the papal household, and has a wonderful devotion to Mary has said it best. “The best way that we can honor Mary is not devotion to her, but imitation of her.”

Her words to us: “Let it be done to me according to your will.” “Do whatever he tells you.”. " My spirit rejoices in God my saviour." This is what Mary wants most from us, for us to have a relationship with her Son and to be obedient to Him.

John,

I also agree with you. I think the words (imitation/devotion) are somewhat interchangeable. I was looking at it from Pope John Paul II’s perspective of praying the Rosary and seeing Jesus through the eyes of Mary (cf. On the Holy Rosary by PJPII). God Bless, Charles
PS Have you read True Devotion…
***Devotion requires imitation

Mary emphasizes our proper relationship to God.

Every time we pray a rosary, or have a statue of Mary, light a candle we illustrate that love for a Saint is a good thing and as Catholics (and only Catholics are allowed this) we are allowed to fully love others and show it. Since our worship is done at Mass we have the freedom to love others without it being worship and this is illustrated in our devotion to the Saints.

Any non-catholic who does such a thing and has a worship service consisting of prayers or songs then is prohibited from expressing love in most any way without contradicting their faith.

A Catholic can express love and this emphasizes our freedom and the importance of the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross which we unite ourselves to at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Since Catholics find perfect worship at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass since Jesus is offered up to God there we emphasize the importance of the Sacrifice of Jesus and how our love for others is not restricted, because Jesus did the true perfect work for us.

In Christ
