Just to make sure what the political leanings are.

A very, very small percentage of CAF will vote. How will that “make sure” of anything?

I’m a constitutionalist. And if you believe in the Constitution, you can be neither a conservative or liberal. Those are contradictions.

I’m more of a distributist than liberal or conservative (by today’s US standards).

I guess no one will ever know, in that case.

I didn’t vote because liberal and conservative labels aren’t useful when not describing a specific issue.

What I mean is a non-American conservative would be fine with government-run healthcare which would horrify most American conservatives. Liberals in many parts of Europe are in favour of free markets but a conservative might not.

Even if you narrow it to specific issue, it can still be a problem when these labels morph over time. Sorry to add confusion to this.

I always enjoy polls but my thinking often changes from day to day. However, I’ve also taken many of those “aptitude type tests”, meant mainly for online fun, to see where I am on the political landscape. Without fail I always place dead center. Possibly typical of a Canadian. LOL

Conservative and liberal mean very different things in different countries.

I would consider myself British center/left but not necessarily US center/left. They have considerably different ideals.

Australia’s far left is VERY liberal (The Green Party) although the Labor Party (who make up the majority) are much closer to the center. They still are very different from the Democrats (although the comparable party)

Those terms are a bit ambiguous considering you have a global audience.

Arch-conservative until it comes to the disabled poor, and then I’m a howling liberal.

I tend to dislike both of the main parties. The Democrats are way too liberal, while the Republicans are no longer conservative, they now have gone 20 rungs down the ladder to being Trumpists.
In the middle of it all are people like myself. In the old days, we were called Texas Yellow Dog Democrats. We were liberal on social issues like equal rights for Blacks, Hispanics, and Women, for social security and other program that benefit those in need. On the other hand, we were fiscal conservatives and for strong national defense.
But, Vietnam erased strong national defense from the Democrats, while abortion took away our moral high ground.
My politics have evolved to becoming an Independent. I lean conservative on some issues, while I lean liberal on others.
