Life's Tree or Tree of Live?

Biblically speaking is there a difference between Life’s Tree and the Tree of Life?

Does in matter in the Hebrew or the Septuagint?

Also, would it apply to the New Testament?

Jim, you’re going to have to be a bit more explanatory. What are you talking about? I have never heard of something called “Life’s Tree”. As far as the “Tree of Life” I assume you are talking about the Tree of Life mentioned in Genesis. What exactly do you want to know about it?

I’m not sure what you mean by “Does it matter in the Hebrew or Septuagint”. Does what matter?

I’m also not sure what you mean by “Does it apply to the New Testament”. Does what apply?

First, forgive the mistake I made in typing the title of the thread, thanks!

In English, there really isn’t a difference between jpjd’s tree and tree of jpjd.

I was wondering if in the Hebrew and Greek if there is a difference.

Life’s Tree means it is God’s tree. The way most of us understand tree of life is different from God’s Tree. I think most of us see the tree of life as a physcial tree;a tree that gives life.

I believe Life’s Tree is a better understanding, that is, if I am correct. I know that must sound strange, sorry.

It is the same in greek. There is a form of a word ( the genetive ) that expresses ownership. In English we decline words into 4 forms (the base: mom, Plural: moms, Genative: mom’s, Plural Genative: moms’ )
In Greek and many other languages the declensions are manifold. (I understand hungarian has 14).

In Greek there is only one way to say Life’s Tree. It is the same way to say Tree of Life. The difference only appears in how the translator decided to express the genetive in English.

In English most declensions are formed using pronouns

in the house, of the house, on the house, to the house, etc.

I don’t know Hebrew.
