The Lifeteen website rates The Catcher in the Rye as only having one star out of a potential five. The “reviewer” then goes on to state that he does think that there is much benefit to be had from reading said novel. The book is a fantastic classic. This kind of nonsense is why the Church has so many enemies.

Lifeteen is not “the” Church. anymore than the guy who reviews books for the NY Times represents the entire American publishing industry. He was giving an opinion, not citing Church teaching.
