Is the light of Scripture from God’s flame of love?

Song of Songs 8: 6 Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; For stern as death is love; relentless as the nether world is devotion; it flames are a blazing fire, 7 Deep waters cannot quench love, nor floods weep it away.

Also, God is a consuming fire.

Also, God is love.

I know that I often think of light as intellectual and related to truth.

But I am wondering if the light is not from God’s burning love.

This burning love then lights up our heart or intellect.

Well, JUST AN IDEA AND I AM LOOKING FOR HELP…

I’d say Jesus is the Light as explained in Isaiah:

Isaiah 42:6 "I, Yahweh, have called you in saving justice, I have grasped you by the hand and shaped you; I have made you a covenant of the people and light to the nations…"

Isaiah 49:6 [from the Song of the Servant of Yahweh] "He said, ‘It is not enough for you to be my servant, to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back the survivors of Israel*; I shall make you a light to the nations so that my salvation may reach the remotest parts of earth***."

Isaiah 60:1-3 "Arise, shine out, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen on you. Look! though night still covers the earth and darkness the peoples, on you Yahweh is rising and over you his glory can be seen. The nations will come to your light and kings to your dawning brightness."

Whereas the Holy Spirit is the result of the Love that is shared between God the Father and Jesus.

But then, EVERYTHING that is Good springs ultimately from God’s burning love for us!

Is there a Biblical passage for the Holy Spirit as the love of the Father and the Son?

Thanks!!!

Not that I know of, but the Church Council of Chalcedon clarified it.

The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. I think the Eastern Church never quite accepted this statement (but I may be wrong).

In Zephaniah 1: 18 “the fire of His jealousy” (“qin’ah”). Some of the time it is translated zeal or zealous.

I thought that this is helpful.

Any Biblical scholars, I could use your insights.

Thank you!!!

This isn’t quite what you’re asking for, but the more you meditate on it, the closer it gets!

Romans 5:5 …* because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. *

I agree!

This is a perfect passage.

THANKS!!!

Also, in the book of Exodus, there is a pillar of fire and a pillar of smoke. This, I think, can be seen as the Holy Spirit!

Again, thanks!!!
