Has anyone had any experience with Lighthouse Catholic Media?
Was it good? It looks like a real good thing to me. A great way to wake up us good ole’ Catholics going to Mass. It seems it will help folks to really understanding the significance of what is going on in the Mass and our beliefs.

What say you O Wise Ones?

Peace!

I am also looking at Lighthouse Catholic media and looking for feedback as well. Thanks for the post. I hope you get a good response! :tiphat:

Used them for almost a year. I paid for the 5 CDs per month subscription but stopped it when money got a little tight.

I really enjoyed the selection. Didn’t even come close to going through a full cycle, gave most of my ‘extra’ CDs away - particularly the ones from the Popcaks about marriage and raising kids. That’s when I realized the flaw in the setup: One can’t go back to order more of any single title.

I would love to have access to those Popcak CDs for wedding and shower gifts but I wasn’t able to find them on their website or on any other site except Lighthouse, and there was no way I could find to order more of those titles. That helped me make the decision to stop the subscription before I found myself more frustrated.

Excellent talks, though. Great for in the car. I’d love to have our parish help distribute them but the logistics of where to store the display racks and where to display them/when for the best shot at getting the CD listened to are too great. It’s also rather expense for a parish budget which more often runs $1,000 in the red than in the green. I do hope to get my finances set up soon, however, to provide the financial support for such an effort though.

Thanks for relaying your experience. I read on their web site that the pairsh can set up an account with them or something. Then each parrish has a volunteer that coordinates orders. Thats how they keep the price down. I will see what other info I can get.

Peace!

I have several of the CDs that I picked up from a local parish here in Wisconsin. They are wonderful! Many knowledgable speakers have talks on several topics delaing with our Catholic faith. There are so many it’s hard to keep up. But that’s ok when the time is right I’ll be able to listen. They are good to listen to as you go to sleep (if you have access to a CD player).

I have subscribed for the past year or so to the CD of the Month Club. It costs $18 for 10 CD’s, which I put out in the back of our church. They are very popular and are usually snapped right up. Our priest has asked me about the possibility of the parish buying a subscription to help meet the demand.

They do have a parish “fundraising program” that is different than the CD of the Month Club. I looked into both and decided to just buy the CD’s myself because our parish is not huge.

If you look at the website, it appears that they are trying to set up a system to order previously released CD’s. I can’t wait for that, as there are a couple of talks that I would like to buy extra copies of to give to specific people. All in all, it’s a great source of quality instruction at a very reasonable price.

The audio that is presented is amazing. I have learned about the Catholic faith. My love for the Holy Eucharist and knowledge of the Sacrament have been greatly strengthened from the talks on the CD’s.

I am actually listining to a cd right now about marriage because I am getting married in July!
