Lioness kills mate at zoo

This is peculiar to me. Lions don’t act that way in the wild. Apparently lionesses might attack a male from a different pride, but never mortally.

Who knows. I’m glad it happened before opening. That would have been a frightening sight.

The article states that they attempted to separate the lions. I guess from a distance? Who would get in between two fighting lions.
 
Sounds as though poor old Leo got a roar deal.

Must be dangerous lots of lions living together, maybe that’s why they say that “Pride comes before a fall.”

Animals at zoo suffer. They don’t live as God intended them to live. Some of them hurt themselves. It’s a sign of depression imho.
 
I think that’s true.

My husband said that he read the lioness was captured from the wild, the lion was born in captivity and was generally pretty docile.
