list of sins

does anyone have a list of ALL the sins? and also I’m alittle confused about mortal and venial sins. So if I committed a mortal sinned but asked for forgivenes I would still go to hell? perhaps someone could help me understand the details! thanks

Here’s a decent list

I don’t think there is an all-inclusive list anywhere, you are supposed to think/reflect on your own actions and detemrine whether you have sinned or not. The responsibility is yours, and ignorance is no excuse which is why you are supposed to read things like the Bible and the Catholic Catechism to learn.

Mortal sin will prevent somoeone from joining Jesus Christ in Heaven unless forgiven by reconciliation (ie not by Eucharist, in fact taking the Eucharist while in a state of mortal sin is a mortal sin )

While you are at it, you may want to read about Indulgences and temporal punishment, because forgiveness is not the only thing - there is the punishment to overcome. It’s like the child that breaks the window, and his/her parent says “I forgive you, but in punishment you have to wash the car all summer.” Forgiveness does not preclude the punishment God would have us do becasue He loves us.

Go to catholic parents online and look up examination of conscience. It will tell you all you need to know to get started figuring out what you ought to be doing and not doing. Remember that the 10 commandments are only half of the equation, living the beatitudes is the other half. Read them, read the Imitation of Christ and it will help you learn to live them. Before you know it you will be strolling up to the pearly gates and your friends will follow.
