If you or a female you know is interested in discerning a vocation to becoming a Catholic nun or religious sister, the following link is a list of 120 religious communities for women in the USA:

These communities are made up of a total of around 6,000 religious sisters who belong to the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious. From what I’ve read, they appear to be faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. Most of them also wear traditional religious habits. They currently serve in over 400 educational institutions, nearly 200 health care facilities, almost 300 parishes, 50 retreat or spiritual centers, and numerous other settings. About 85% of professed sisters are fully engaged in active service, while 15% are retired due to age or infirmity.
Over 900 sisters are currently in initial formation, with temporary professed as the largest group followed by novices and postulants. The average age for both postulants and novices is 28 years old, while the average age for temporary professed sisters is 32.5 years old. These are statistics from last year.
Most of these communities also accept prayer requests, so feel free to ask them to pray for your prayer intentions. Click on the communities of your interest on the list to find their websites and/or contact information.
