Thank you Junebug! Wow! I love The Litany of the Saints. There is a fellow at our parish who does it so very well and we did have it Sat night and it was beauitful.

thank you – I love that song too. I’m going to try to get that CD and also download that onto an ipod.

Thanks a bunch!

That Litany sounds almost exactly as it was sung during my reception into the Church. I mean, the guy’s voice sounds just like our musician’s at my parish. I also attend a Church called St. Mary’s.

I do love the Litany of the Saints. One of the highlights of Easter Vigil.

This is my favorite “Litany of the Saints”. The link is from JPII’s funeral.

I had to lead in chanting this in English and a capella at a bishop’s ordination in our diocese a couple years back. At first, with its repetitive nature, I found myself getting tired, then suddenly, something clicked and it completely placed me into a spiritual trance, especially when a room full of 3000 priests, seminarians and lay people are also chanting back.

Great Link! Thanks so much. Why we don’t sing this on All Saints Day? It would be a really beautiful way to open Mass.

My only beef with this song…the lyrics “James, John & all other apostles.” Holy Mackeral–we are naming every major saint, why can’t we name ALL the apostles by name–I think they deserve it–they only founded our Church 🙂

LOL, yeah I skipped the 3rd verse after seeing some unpronouncable saint names I’ve never heard of, yet only two of the apostles are named, hahaha.
