Little help with Latin

im just doing this post to see if someone knows latin enough to translate the following

Until we meet in Heaven
Michael and Gabriel
May you both find eternal rest.

I tried google translation and two other sites all come up with different versions. I need it to be correct as i want it as a tattoo on my wrist in a design like a bracelet

I would hold off on the tattoo. It is a fashion trend you may regret later in life and depending on the purpose, can be a sin.

P.S. I’m assuming you’re grieving the loss of two children. I’ll pray for them and for you. As a mom I couldn’t imagine losing a child, let alone two. You could pray a Rosary a day for them, which would be a very loving thing to do.

Qaletaqa, I would post the translations you’ve found and see if any scholars here can assist. Latin is tricky, I just translated your phrases online and I know the given result is partly incorrect, as I studied Latin at school - but I don’t know enough to help you get it absolutely right for a tattoo!

Dona eis requiem sempiternam would be “grant them eternal rest”

There are various words for “find”: invenire, reperire, cognoscere. If you go with invenire, you would use second person plural subjunctive, with (“both”) understood:

Inveniatis (uterque) requiem sempiternam

I believe the English form (Michael et Gabriel) would work as your vocative.

Let me think about the first line if you still want it. Unless, of course, someone gets inspired before I do. I’m thinking in paradisum…

Disclaimer: I’m doing this just as an exercise as I’m personally opposed to tattooes.

i trying to have something to remember them by, i wanted a stone to remember them at the Church i attend but the priest said that i could do it but the next priest might not know about it and it could be removed, they dont have graves or anything and i need something i just thought a small tattoo designed into a bracelet, not a big ugly thing. i dont really like tattoos i think some are just awful to look at but each to their own.

Many grave yards allow people to purchase a memorial bench or tree in the grave yard as a Memoriam of their deceased relative (usually after they regret spreading their ashes and realize they have no place to visit.

It is much easier to go from Latin to English, than it is from English to Latin. If you provide what translation you have so far; it’d be easier for us to fix a wrong translation.

It is in the Holy Bible not to tattoo. I believe it is in Leviticus. A friend of mine told me about it. I was glad he did. I think it is Leviticus 19:28 but you will have to double check me. When I read it I stayed clear of a tatoo.

, i just read on this site that people use that quote to argue against tattoos, but the passage was in reference to the popular pagan tradition at the time of tattooing oneself or cutting oneself to appease their gods or ancestors.

According to the church they are neutral when it comes to tattoos.
