Hey all. I’m trying to find a resource that links the daily readings to their corresponding Catechetical Reference. I thought this would be much easier to find than it is proving to be, since so much adult ministry is centered around the Liturgy of the Word; from RCIA to YA and Adult Formation. I’ve only found one link that includes catechetical references for major seasons. It doesn’t account for ordinary time. It seems to me that this would be a great tool for any formation ministry, especially since the USCCB pushes formation rooted in the Liturgy of the Word.

Are you looking for something like this?

It only looks at the Sunday Gospel readings, not all the Mass readings for every day. But it does tie them together with the Catechism to present a comprehensive sort of catechesis.

A lot of “Lectionary based” programs don’t work that well because the Lectionary is not a Catechism. But this book is probably the best attempt and bringing the two together.

Midwest Theological Forum’s Daily Roman Missal heads the readings for each Sunday with a quotation from the Catechism of the Catholic Church relating to at least one of the readings. But this is not done for weekdays. If one were so inclined, one could use the index of biblical readings to find the corresponding quotation from the Catechism for any liturgical day.
