Solved the mystery and the greater majority of you were quite correct! It is the Liturgy of The Word with Communion which we now have again three days weekly and I am informed has been so for a while now:o

Being dependant on a lift to and from Mass and for quite a while unable to find one with problems with buses, I could not get to Mass at allf in our parish, hence missed out on much for a while.

Now this is the reason and no excuse I know! Our deacon who is more or less relatively new has done a great job with our bulletin and changed things around, so that this 64yr old 29 year long parishioner was long used to seeing certain things in certain places…and could see without seeing - very much as I can sometimes hear without hearing. Need I say more.

All my fault entirely! Thank you for trying and sorry for trying you.:o

Technically speaking a “Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion” is not proper on a daily basis. Cardinal Arinze mentioned that it should be reserved to Sundays and Holy days where the faithful would usually be obligated to gather for the Mass and without warning the celebrant is unavailable. When it is known that a priest will not be available in advance for the usual Sunday or Holy day Mass there is no obligation. In other words he was saying that in his opinion it the “Communion Service” was being misused.
