It’s probably better if you either know where to go from the locals, or get out of Warsaw. I was happy to just hit all the bakeries and buy some deli meat, I don’t really like restaurants. My foodie friend who has been all over the world was appalled at what was served to him there (rather bad soup seems to be a theme). I told him to just go find some pizza or cookies, that little area around Pope JPII’s church in Warsaw or even down in the subway has good things in that regard.

Edited to add, I also have spent a lot of time in Cleveland and Pittsburgh so I can always find great Polish food right near home, some of it even sold by the local churches as fund raisers.

That’s right next door to where I grew up (Elkhart), but I wasn’t Catholic then. I liked to listen to the polka programs Saturday afternoons, with some of the commentary and commercials in Polish. When I was half-way thru my USAF Basic Russian course in 1969, I came home on leave for mid-course break, tuned in the polka program, and discovered, hey, I can understand some of this!

EWTN Polska has a whole, whole lot of Catholic Polish TV on EWTN. I was a bit astonished.

For example, I watched this brief show on St. Faustina. The dialog is actually in English but overdubbed with Polish.

Even though it’s in English originally, I don’t recognize this at all. It does sound like “American or Canadian English” at that… it’s only around 35 minutes.

I am not sure why I am getting a black and white screen on this next video (yes, the first video is black and white) but here, I was watching a colorful sanctuary from Poland. This is live. It must be about? 6 AM or something but during the day, I have seen what appeare to be many visitors.

I even briefly perused some videos of some of their priests, some young, speaking about their faith. As I said, there appears to be a whole lot of Catholic broadcasting from Poland. I note, this sanctuary actually is a bit in Polish colors, red and white. They may have Mass there though, I have not seen it happen but I’ve seen a lot of activity.

There certainly are some very nice Catholic live feeds on youtube, not only this Polish above, I know I watched some Spanish and I’m sure I watched some Portuguese and Italian. It might be nice to have a listing of, some of these live feeds. They are fascinating. I never realized such existed. Maybe others did.

I’ve definitely watched Lourdes… but these others are great, places I was not aware of in most cases.
