Local Pregnancy crisis center or Catholic program in next city?

I am a somewhat awkward position. A Catholic friend (not at my parish) asked me to come up with some people at my parish that she could invite to a fundraising dinner for the local Crisis Pregnancy center. This center is located within a few miles of our parish. It’s a nondenominational center but is mostly supported and staffed by evangelical Protestants.

But, our parish seems to support the Catholic Program which is located downtown (as opposed to our Suburban locale). Plus, our parish has a fledgling Gabriel project program.

How do I handle this?

You politely tell her that you do not feel comfortable giving out names of individuals who will be approached for monetary donations.

We are all working to save babies, and her cause is certainly worthy, but some of these people already have financial and time commitments established with other charities and causes.

You could tell her that you will pass the information on to your friends/colleagues regarding the fundraiser, and those who are interested can contact her. That way, no one feels put on the spot to make a donation or attend the fundraiser when they might not be in a position to do so.
