Looking for a good intro. to the major orders

The thread title pretty much sums it up. I’m curious if anyone here can suggest to me a good introduction to the major religious orders of the Church (i.e. Franciscans, Dominicans, Carmelites, Benedictines, etc.). I’m basically looking for something that would introduce each order, their history, their spirituality/charism, usual daily activities, etc.

Is there such a book? Or perhaps books? Even an introductory book on each order separately would be ok, though it would be nicer if several orders were described in one book.

Hi! Most of the religious order’s websites have a good wealth of information. I suggest doing some quick Google searches and reading some small introductions there.
