By the way, I’ve looked diligently for a pocket-sized RSV-CE, or even an RSV (not New RSV) and cannot find one. ]

If it is just a New Testament or a New Testament and Psalms pocket bible then any edition will do as the only place the Catholic Bible differs is in the Old Testament.
That is what I am looking for. A nice and compact Catholic Bible, the whole Bible, not just the New Testament.

When I was protestant my wife bought me a really nice OT/NT vest pocket Bible that snapped shut. I left it in church one day and never got it back.
What I’d like is a vest pocket Jerusalem OT/NT.

That’s not correct: the RSV Catholic Edition (RSV-CE) differs in a significant number of passages in the NT from the “regular” RSV. There is a table in the back of my RSV-CE that lists all of the differences, which are indicated by footnotes in the text itself.
Baronius Press indicates (see the second link in my previous post in this thread) that they are working to print a pocket-sized Douay-Rheims translation which will include the complete OT and NT. They are also planning to print one that includes only the NT and Psalms.

There does exist a vest-pocket edition (with snap-close cover) of the New Jerusalem Bible, though I realize that you may well have a prefence for the “old” JB translation.
At the moment, I can’t find a link to it, but I’ll keep looking.

Catholic Bible Press puts out an NAB that measures 6.76" x 4.5" x 1.5". Not exactly pocket size, but trust me on this–unless you have microscopes for eyes, you’re not going to want anything smaller.

The Claretian Fathers have a Bible that is called the Christian Community Bible, Catholic Pastoral Edition. It is handbag size 
. It would not fit into your pocket but it fits into my handbag 
.
The only other that I have seen is the New Jerusalem Bible. It is a very nice compact book.
Since I do not like the NAB it would be useless for me to comment upon that one.

Hi,
I still have a pocket Bible from when I young, unfortunately it is not a Catholic one (New Revised Standard Version) and it measures 3.3mm in height and 3mm in width, the only thing is that you need a powerful magnifying glass to read the print.

If you check e-bay you may be able to come across a Douay-rheim version put out by the catholic truth society in the UK. Published , i guess through the 50’s, I was able to get mine for 12 bucks
. What’s great is that it is a hardcover 3.5" X
5.5" X 2" fat little book. The cool thing about it to, is that it gives apologetic info throughout.
Also the military is a good place to look. they offer pocket size versions of scripture to troops.

I found this link- and they are rsv’s too, am going to order one there. I also don’t care for the nab - my husband loves it- so I guess its just my preference…
