Looking for Catholic Tapestry

I’m trying to do a banner project for a nearby parish. It had been my intention to applique a 13x8 Queen of Angels tapestry onto a large piece of brocade, and use it for my central image.

I had ordered this a week ago, but it wasn’t in the mail. I followed up on my order today— “Oh, didn’t you get the email that it was out of stock?”

I’m looking around for a good source for similar Marian imagery— roughly that 13x8 size, preferably Mary + baby Jesus, not necessarily Queen of Angels imagery.

And all my Google-fu is bringing up is the place that was out-of-stock, and a wholesaler that doesn’t vend to individuals. 😦

I’m a little shocked by the lack of middle-sized Marian wall hangings out there. Most of my Marian “tapestry” searches either bring up blankets or little coin/rosary purses.

I’m actively soliciting links to products of a similar-sized product; something that’s printed on non-fleece fabric; and hopefully under that $30-$40 price range. I need to get my Plan B in my hands by the end of this month.

Any suggestions? I was thinking I might try getting a custom oversized patch with some public domain art, like the above Bouguereau— but I don’t think I can do that within my deadline.

Thank you!

Try Ebay or Etsy. You might not find the Bougereau, but there are plenty of tapestries and fabric prints of Mary with Baby Jesus. There is a seller on Etsy who sells many Catholic printed polyester drawstring bags that would be about the right size for your project. Here’s a sweet one, though Jesus might need a little appliqued didie (wouldn’t be too hard to sew one on him)

(Just ignore the many sellers who can’t tell Mary from St. Therese Virgin Mary Tapestry From Lourdes Needlepoint craft of | Etsy)

Sorry @midori I don’t understand anything about tapestry so I can’t really contribute.

Thank you very much, everyone!

I was able to find a shrine gift-shop that printed and gallery-wrapped their own canvases. I asked them if I could buy a rolled canvas print instead of one that had been gallery-wrapped over wood. They didn’t have an unmounted canvas, but they would hopefully print one and get it in the mail today or Monday.
Thank you, National Shrine of Divine Mercy! 💙

My color scheme is suddenly skewed a bit… but I can roll with that. 🙂 I think the image is going to be superior to what I was originally wanting (which may have been the point of this entire hiccup), but all I can do is trust the deadlines to work out okay. 💙

The funny thing is, I had absolutely zero trouble trying to find a St. Therese tapestry to use for my image for the first one I committed to make. 🙂 I figured a Virgin Mary would be equally easy to find resources for… I was really surprised.

Here are some in-progress pictures, as the elements are coming together.

Just posting to keep the thread open… 💙
