Looking for good Bible Study program for parish

I recently became coordinator of Bible Study program for a small parish.

Over the past 12 years, we have covered all the books in the Little Rock series and are ready to try something new. Can you recommend a Bible study program for our parish?

Also, any advice on a good Bible study program for Spanish speakers? I’m very interested in reaching out to the Hispanic community in our parish.

Hi Maria… I am currently involved in a Come and See Catholic Bible study and enjoy it.

The commentary gives you historical and biblical context and the study questions reference both Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

At our parish we have used among others Catholic Scripture Study Internation studies. Their website is ccsprogram.net. We have also done Our Fathers Plan which is available through Ignatius Press and is a study designed to go with the Our Fathers Plan DVD’s by Jeff Cavins and Scott Hahn–it is a study on salvation history. And I think a very good study.

Those are a couple of ideas.

Call them up and they will work with your parish. They flew two facilitators from Minnesota to Atlanta to train our small-group facilitators. The studies are fantastic. I have learned much.

Also, there is a dvd set called “Our Father’s Plan” done by Scott Hahn and Jeff Cavins. It is beautiful. You can present this to your group without having to go through any training. You can get a facilitator’s manual and workbooks to go along with it.
