From Austin, Texas, that is? We need ten members in the Austin Catholic Cafe (a CAF group at forums.catholic-questions.org/group.php?groupid=470 ) so that we can open a forum. The group is for all Catholics in or around Austin or who have some connection to Austin to build the general Catholic community by posting announcements and links to parish activities, having some informal fellowship online and off, etc.
The threads will include links for each parish, individuals can open threads, etc and it will most likely be open only to members so that it is truly a little neighborhood cafe where people who are doing something special can talk about it.
Controversial or topical discussions will be left for the open boards so that the whole spectrum of Catholics can enjoy fellowship in the Cafe.
If you are from Austin and you haven’t joined, please do.
If you think this is a neat idea but you are not an Austin (or Austin-connected) Catholic, why not get a similar cafe going for your own community?
