Hi,
I’m looking perhaps for a pope’s encyclical to guide me in a winsome, loving attitude toward Christians who are not Catholic. I have been a Lutheran for many years and am converting (reverting) to Catholicism because I believe it is the fullness of the faith, Christ’s True Church. I have been so focused on what is missing in Protestantism (specifically Lutheranism) as I learn more about the Catholic Church, preparing myself to be able to discuss the differences. But my wife is determined to remain Lutheran, and I have children who are Lutheran (my son-in-law is a Pastor), and grandchildren who will grow up Lutheran, and I am currently a Lutheran church worker, which I will give up at the end of this school year. There are lots of discussions ahead of me. I need to be guided in a loving and respectful attitude. The truth is the truth, but how can I speak it graciously, while acknowledging their sincere faith and love for the Lord that I have shared for many years.
Thanks, John
