I’m looking to buy a CD audio Bible New and Old Testaments. I’m not interested in Kindle, online, apps or pdf, only physical CD. Open to RSV, RSV2CE (my first choice) Knox, Douay-Rheims, Confraternity-Douay, NABRE, translations. Also important is the reader. It has to be someone whose voice I like. I’m not looking for a bunch of actors and actress readers like with one I saw. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I’ve listened to the gospel of Mark on it, and it sounds good, but have you checked out the truth and life audio Bible?

Truth and Life is New Testament dramatic reading of RSV2CE. They are working on an OT, but haven’t heard when to expect it.

Thanks. I don’t order from any online. I like to get titles and have the local book store order it where I can pick it up.

What do you mean by dramatic? I’m not sure I want anything dramatic.

I found a NABRE with good voice. Only New Testament though.

“Locked in silent monologue in silent scream”

I found one on Audible.com that I’m thinking of buying. It’s NASB Complete Audio Bible if you do search for it. You can listen to his first 4 minutes or so, and this one lists all the books in it. Not all have all the books, OT and NT.

instead of a static reading of the text, the text is read by a narrator, and when people are speaking, actors read, for example, the voices of women (i.e., the blessed Mother) are read by women, with some expression.

I think if you google truth and life, you can hear a segment to see if its to your liking or not…worth a shot!

I might get this one. Upside Both Testaments which I want. Downside no deuterocanonical books and I don’t like the voice and delivery as much as a RSV2CE I heard through samples. That one is only New Testament. So I’d rather have the Old Testament without the deuterocanonical books than no Old Testament at all.
