not to derail the thread, but since we’re talking about bad liturgical music, why must we be subjected to the haugen/hass babble incessantly…is it just my church?
:nope: It’s not just your church

Thanks Didi this is tryly beautiful!
I happen to enjoy “Lord of The Dance” too…:yup:

Just so you know, my thread wasn’t meant to bash the song- though thats it it ahs turned into. I love the song, it is one of my favorites.
Thank you, Didi, for explaining it. 👍

nice take didi… but all i can think of when i hear the song is a reference to an abuse in the liturgy which turns my stomach… liturgical dance:dancing:

Michael Flatley came into this NOT because he wrote the song. Mr. Flatley is now the poster boy for Faux Irish-ism. He is from Chicago- and he was raised as “one of us” and as he was baptized, is still “one of us”.

I’m glad you found some solace in “Lord of the Dance” Didi.

However, if one is going Gaelic, try “Be Thou My Vision”. It’s 8th century, but a little more, I hate to say it, let’s see, appropriate? Better theologically?
