I’m tasked with doing a Catholic presentation for a catholic group. I decided to do it on lord of the rings and how the role Catholicism plays in Jrr tolkien’s work. Can anyone help me out in telling me the parallels between lord of the rings and Catholicism?

Be very wary of looking for any specific Catholic messages in the work.

Tolkien himself said "I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations, and always have done so since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence. " (As I recall, he said that specifically in relation to C.S.Lewis’s Narnia series, which is strongly allegorical).

On the other hand, he said "“The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work, unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision.”
