I’ve noticed that there’s a difference Catholics/Protestants the verbage/text of the Lord’s Prayer.
The Catholic “version” doesn’t include
“For Thine is the Kindom…the Power, the Glory…”…etc
Is this just a difference in the versions of the bibles?
I certainly don’t see why Protestants or Catholics would have a major problem with the other’s versions, so please don’t turn this into a “ours is better!” argument! I’m just curious about the difference.
My wife used to be Catholic, and now when we recite the Lord’s prayer, she isn’t used to the part I mentioned above.
But when we attend mass with her family(don’t worry, out of respect of the Catholic beliefs, I don’t partake in communion there), I’ve almost continued with the Lord’s prayer when the rest of the congregation stopped at the same time
I guess it would have been easy to point out the non-Catholic in that service
