My daughter’s friend (young teens) was left by mother and is now being raised with father. Previously a strong Protestant family, they are devistated by their mom leaving without explanation. Now this girl wants to become (don’t laugh) either a “jew or athiest” - anything - because she is sure Jesus did not exist as we believe He did. Father is anti-Catholic, and in fact, forbid her to see my daughter when we converted to Catholicism (from Baptist) for fear we would “teach her how to pray to Mary”. Obviously, years later, that is not the case and he lets our kids hang out. But my daughter does want to evangelize to her friend … any books out there that are for young minds but not hokey? We want to reach out to her without offending her father - we wish to honor his beliefs without dishonoring ours? Does that make sense to anybody? And if so, can you suggest anything?
