I like the Clouds, it’s a funny play, even if it killed Socrates.
That aside, if someone is too lazy or dense to study philosophy then that is their loss, to butcher Chandler; leave the thinking to the philosophers - it takes equipment.
Why should philosophy be a
simple subject, it deals with questions as complex; if not more complex than physics, mathematics, psychology and so forth; so naturally there will be complex and technical language for resolving these problems.
So another pertinent question, and one implicitly raised by Mr. George’s discussion, is can philosophy ever be fun?
Of course philosophy is fun, but just like chess or cards, one has to learn the rules first - if you jump in mid-way without any understanding of what’s going on, your bound not only to get a licking, but to make youself look a fool.
