I lost a glove which I liked very much in a store. I searched the restroom, and the aisles of several stores. I prayed to St Anthony when it happened. It was nowhere to be found.

The glove turned up in my jacket sleeve a week later. It was not there when I was wearing the jacket.

Anyone else miraculously find things?

All the time. I can’t count how many times I have found my keys, my wallet, and various other things immediately after praying to St. Anthony for help.

One time my fiance lost her keys when she needed to take me to the train. Immediately after praying to St. Anthony (not more than 5 seconds later), she found the keys in the cupholder when she dropped her hands in despair and felt the keys against her hand. I have never seen a pout change to a smile so quickly 🙂

One of my favorite prayers is the “Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony”:

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.

I got really nervous when I couldn’t find the watch that was given to me for my 18th birthday. I was really panicked, and turned my room upside down and inside out.
After panicking, i was like “What about St. Anthony?” looked in my prayer book, said a little prayer, and was like, “please help me find it!”

I got up, for some reason looked in my closet, and there it was, hiding behind a towel!!!

Very cool.

(informally:) props to St. Anthony!

Oh St Anthony knows me only too well, I’m forever losing things and pestering him to help me find 'em.

I like the more informal (and easier to remember) prayer that goes ‘my (insert name of lost object) is lost and can’t be found, St Anthony help me look around’ 😃 👍

My grandmother told me about St. Anthony once - maybe like 20 years ago. I forget the informal prayer she used - something like “St. Anthony, something is lost and must be found… [insert item here]”.

St. Anthony responds to prayers as fast as anyone.

However, don’t stop with only praying to St. Anthony for things you misplaced. Find a book or two and read about St. Anthony.

And lastly, I suppose that in order to receive any grace you must have at least a small devotion to Mary, the mother of Jesus. So don’t neglect saying a Hail Mary at least sometimes. Make a place of prayer or reflection in your home and have at least a picture or statue of Mary. And a crucifix. And St. Anthony and others that you love.

I have this little St Therese prayer stone. I lost it on Christmas Eve 2005 when we were at my in-laws cabin in Oregon. I got down on my hands and knees and looked everywhere for it. I wasn’t able to find it though. I had a feeling it would turn up later, since things like prayer cards and my rosary tend to actually do that a lot. Well, months went by and I didn’t see it. Then I went on a Boy Scout camping trip the following March. I set up my tent during the day, but didn’t roll out my sleeping bag until 11 o’clock that night when I was ready to go to sleep. I didn’t turn on my flashlight. I just pulled the rolled sleeping bag out of the stuff sack in the dark, and there right on top of the roll was the St Therese prayer stone. Even in the dark, I recognized it right away. The really strange thing was that that sleeping bag had been used and put away since the time that stone was lost, so I can not figure out how it ended up like that.

And yes, I believe I did pray to St Anthony back when I originally lost it. I had really wanted to find the prayer stone at that time, because it had been a really difficult trip.

I regularly go to St.Anthony…Saying a prayer I learned as a child…Tony, Tony, look around, something’s lost, can’t be found.

But for some reason, despite all the other times, he interceded on my behalf, I still could not locate, my only pair of glasses, which I desperately needed to drive my car. For 3 days, I tore up the entire house to no avail. I expressed my desperation to a friend, who said that when she was a child, a very old nun suggested that whenever we misplace or lose something, St.Anthony is our first choice, however, he is human and is not God, and sometimes he is very busy doing other things…So why not, say a prayer to a poor soul in Purgatory who suffered from the same problem as I…losing an item etc. So I thought why not…on my short walk home, I said an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be (3 times) for a Poor Soul in Purgatory. When I got there, I entered my backyard intending to clean our pool. As I approached the pool filter, with my hose etc…Just before I stepped up to hook up my equipment I looked down, and half buried in the mud were my glasses…minus one of the lenses…I then said…come on Poor Soul, you got me this far…where’s the other lens…about 2 ft.away, also buried was the unbroken errant lens. I could have easily stepped on them and broken the wire frames but instead I chanced and looked down! Praise God!

So when St.Anthony is busy…go to a Poor Soul in Purgatory. You are doing them as much as prayer as they return yours!
