After 3 long years, early this summer my Grandmother passed away to finally join with my Grandfather. Since he passed away from cancer, she had a slow decline, ultimately chosing death and to be with him. I’m looking for a passage that is relevant. I’m not very religious, and I have no idea where to look or the story behind any passage I’ve looked at. I’m looking for one to describe what happened…Love being stronger than anything else, ultimately to be only with the one she loves, and for in the end everyone to be together again. Anything that can encompass those ideas would be awesome…thank you!

Love is more powerful than death. Love overcomes death. Jesus rose and will raise all the dead. He is the firstborn of the dead. God is love.

Condolences on your loss.

In situations like this, I think we have to leave it in God’s hands, and trust that those whom we’ve lost are not just happier than we imagine, but happier than we can imagine.

I don’t have any verses for your consideration, I [like most Catholics, I think] don’t go in for verse-at-a-time bible study, in which a single verse is lifted from its context to [supposedly] prove a point.
